ChatGPT is an AI assistant designed to understand and generate human-like text responses.<br> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How Luz Was Developed<br><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Luz was specifically designed and configured to:<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Guide users through the four pillars of solutions journalism methodology<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ask strategic questions that help structure and strengthen pitch ideas<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Provide constructive feedback on story concepts<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Help identify gaps in research or framing<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Support journalists in English, Spanish, and Portuguese<br><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Important Limitations<br><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>While Luz provides helpful guidance, please understand that:<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>AI-generated responses may contain errors:<\/strong> Luz can make mistakes or provide incomplete information. Always verify facts independently.<br> <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Luz is a support tool, not an editor:<\/strong> The chatbot helps you think through your pitch but does not replace professional editorial review or judgment.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Luz does not have real-time information:<\/strong> The chatbot cannot access current news, verify recent events, or browse the internet.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Suggestions are not guarantees:<\/strong> A pitch developed with Luz is not guaranteed to be accepted by editors, funders, or the Latin American Solutions Journalism Fund.<br><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Your Responsibility<br><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>You are responsible for:<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Verifying all facts, data, and claims in your pitch<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ensuring your pitch meets the specific requirements of any editor or funder you submit to<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Exercising editorial judgment about the quality and accuracy of your work<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Understanding that Luz provides guidance, not professional advice<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">3. Use of Our Platform<br><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Eligibility<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>You must be at least 13 years old to use our platform. You may choose your language when you start and can use different languages in different conversations. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">4. User Accounts<br><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Some features of our platform may require you to create an account. We do not claim ownership of your creative work or journalistic ideas.<br> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">License to Use Your Content<br><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>By using the Luz chatbot, you grant us a limited license to:<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Store your conversations to allow you to access them later<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Process your inputs to generate chatbot responses<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Review anonymized conversation patterns to improve the service<br><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>This license does not give us the right to publish, sell, or otherwise use your specific story ideas or pitch content.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Our Content<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>All content on our platform\u2014including training materials, graphics, logos, designs, and the Luz chatbot interface\u2014is owned by the Reynolds Journalism Institute, El Colectivo 506, or our content providers and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Limited License<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use our platform and training materials for personal and professional journalism development purposes.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Restrictions<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>You may not:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Reproduce, distribute, or republish our training content without written permission<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Use our trademarks, logos, or branding without permission<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Attempt to extract, reverse engineer, or copy the Luz chatbot system<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Use the platform to develop competing products or services<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Use automated systems (bots, scrapers) to access the platform without permission<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">6. User Conduct<br><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>When using our platform, you agree to:<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Use the chatbot and resources in good faith for journalism purposes<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Be respectful in any community interactions<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Not submit content that is defamatory, obscene, or offensive<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Not impersonate others or misrepresent your affiliation<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Not attempt to manipulate or abuse the chatbot system<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Not use the platform for any illegal purposes<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Comply with all applicable laws and regulations<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">7. Latin American Solutions Journalism Fund<br><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Registration<br><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>If you register for the Latin American Solutions Journalism Fund through this platform:<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Your registration information will be shared with Fund administrators at El Colectivo 506<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You agree to the Fund&#8217;s specific terms and requirements<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Registration does not guarantee funding; grants are awarded through competitive processes<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You will receive communications about Fund opportunities and calls for proposals<br><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Using Luz for Fund Applications<br><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>You may use pitches developed with Luz as part of your Fund applications. A strong pitch developed through Luz can strengthen your application, but approval is not guaranteed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">8. Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Disclaimer of Warranties<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Our platform and the Luz chatbot are provided &#8220;as is&#8221; and &#8220;as available&#8221; without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that:<br> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The platform will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The chatbot responses will be accurate, complete, or suitable for your needs<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Any defects will be corrected<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The platform will meet your specific requirements<br><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">AI-Specific Disclaimer<br><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Luz is an AI tool with inherent limitations. AI-generated content may be inaccurate, incomplete, or inappropriate.
